There is a lot of research from thousands of Dowsers from all over the world that can be found on the internet today, dowsers and Earth energy investigators seem to exist in all cultures and with some diligent research you can find a lot of them on the internet. These investigators in general usually research ancient cultures and their manipulation of these Earth energies but the true understanding is that everything is energy and that this energy is dynamic flowing under the pressure’s of energies that poor across the Earth from the Sun, from other planets and from the very currents of space itself. (all atoms (matter) produce an energy field and energy in the form of fundamental particles sweep across the universe)

When ancient civilisations would place a standing stone or stone circle on a landscape these stones would behave in a similar fashion to if you place a stone in a shallow river, the water flow would press against the stone causing eddy, turbulence and locally redirected flows as well as quite water spots and depending on the pressure of water (speed of flow) you would get bigger (different) and more dynamic interacting but predictable reactions. This is what happens with natural energies, on the surface of the Earth dowsers find energy interacting with water, different types of rocks as denser rock or rock with high crystal content etc. all produce different energy effects and all these different energies interact with each other in a most confusing and dynamic manner. Energies interacting with each other, produce further types of energies (different wavelengths as they dampen or accelerate each other, living things also create and radiate energy-waves)

But some Earth energies have been channelled deliberately and it is without doubt the ancient stone age cultures of the world who knew those secrets who would move stones and create their own pattern of beneficial energies for their own purpose, a purpose which we are still searching for, although some dowsers are beginning to tease out this ‘what was it all for’ secrets. Just to make it clear ALL solids (rock in the landscape) shape and produce energies that cause an impact on the environment (including Tree’s and their timber). David Cowan a Scottish Dowser has written several books on his findings, watch his interesting video below.

Waverley dowsers are also  involved in the investigations of, why, where and for what reasons were Earth energies manipulated by ancient people, you can read many of the Waverley dowsers investigations in our articles section, from archeological dowsing to the exposure of new ideas from the leading lights of the Dowsing world at meetings and talks. If you live in the south and south east of England you could join the Waverley dowsers and beccome involved in these investigations, have some great fun and meet some truely inspiring people.

Carol Charles is an experienced Dowsing tutor specialising in Health. She is a
Bach Flower Essence practitioner and Massage Therapist. She teaches a wide range of Therapies at venues all over West Sussex..

Today she will work with us to Dowse for Intolerances. Find out about your energy field . Find what is beneficial/non-beneficial for you. Bring your rods and pendulum.

Bring any food you might be intolerant to. Bring your medications, supplements, essential oils, makeup, personal products (shampoo, after shave, bodywash, toothpaste) — please label them with a marker pen.

Sunday 9 November:  The Cerne Giant – Landscape, Gods and the     Stargate with Peter Knight

Peter Knight returns to give another inspiring presentation about his latest book.
He will be  looking at the gods associated with the Cerne Giant, the famous phallic Dorset chalk icon, such as Bran, Dagda, Gwyn, Osiris, etc and the folklore regarding the fertility aspects of the Giant.

He will also show us his groundbreaking new discoveries of the astronomical alignments he has found, both solar and stellar, which date the figure, and the links with the stars of Orion and an Egyptian Stargate of Osiris – a doorway to the Otherworld.

Peter is the author of  8 books about sacred sites, dowsing and sacred landscapes, and is an international speaker, dowser, shamanic facilitator, and sacred sites guide. His books delve into the hidden aspects of sites, as he tries to unravel their meanings in a ‘holistic’ approach. He also advocates how sacred sites can be accessed today to procure earth healing and personal transformation.

Sunday 14 December: The Deeper History of Christmas with Andy Thomas

In a fascinating and uplifting presentation, Andy Thomas uncovers the intriguing deeper background to the festive season. From the ancient celebration of light in the winter darkness, to astrological themes, mystic connections and the marking of the birth of messiahs, mid-December has long been a time for rejoicing.

The traditional Christmas stories echo many ancient myths and still contain powerful truths. Yet Christmas was banned in Puritan times, and splintered into many guises before the Victorians rehabilitated the festival. Andy shows how, for all the modern commercialisation, we can still find meaning in Christmas today and keep the flame of light in the winter darkness alive
Andy is best known as a leading researcher into unexplained mysteries and is the author of the acclaimed The Truth Agenda, which explores paranormal phenomena and global cover-ups. But he is also author of several books on history and local folklore (including the Lewes Bonfire Night festivities). One of his favourite reads is Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, and Andy believes that annual festivals have wider meaning for us than is recognised

When the Frimley and Camberley Cadet corp recently went on a survival course, one of the skills they were taught was the ability to use dowsing to find North and from there the four cardinal points of the compass, a very important skill if you are lost and need to know the direction of travel. Also important when making decisions in setting up camp because if it is night time, you would like to orient the tent entrance facing anywhere but north and if it is winter, not facing in to the British easterly winds.

The Sussex Dowsers  have organised a Field Trip in Highdown  on  Sun  14th Sept.
History – of Highdown Hill, south downs, Sussex click here

The last time Sussex Dowsers visited Highdown it was to visit the bath house  and roman villa this time the focus is going to be on the hill fort site.
At the tea room at 1 o’clock for lunch or at the top of Highdown  Hill car park  at 2 o’clock.

Highdown can be found north of the A259 between Angmering and Ferring. BN126PF

Please phone David on 07754780553 if you wish to join in with this marvellous day trip

There is also a free chalk pit garden that is well worth a visit. It is just next to the Highdown Hill car park and just above the tea room.

“Highdown Camp is one of the most enigmatic enclosures in the South Downs. Much fieldwork has taken place here but the original function of the enclosure is unknown. It may well have been built about 1500 BC and it was certainly refurbished in the Iron Age and Roman periods at which time it may have functioned as a ritual sanctuary.

There is an Anglo-Saxon cemetery here too, and during WWII, troops were stationed
on site”

When Michael Haxeltine was recently on holiday in Montenegro he spotted two Plane trees growing within a few feet of each other, but with opposite twists to their growth shown clearly on the bark and external shape of their trunks. We have no explanation for this growth pattern, although we do know that Sweet Chestnuts have a tendency to twist as they grow if they are on free draining soil which is often seen, this makes the Chestnut tree’s fairly useless for timber and we wondered if anyone might know if this could also be the explanation for the Plane tree’s. Do you have an explanation? If yes please share it, ring Michael on 01252 541 639 if you have a suggestion or use the Waverley dowsers contact page with your thoughts.

Plane Trees Bicici, Montenegro

Plane Trees Bicici, Montenegro

This picture was taken of the trees approximately which are approx one hundred metres from the seafront near the Quay.

Dowsing is universally recognised and this was demonstrated while Michael was dowsing these Plane trees to see if there was any adverse earth or water energies affecting the tree’s growth some taxi drivers at this town of Becici in Montenegro. Four taxi drivers attempted it and three did it within seconds, one of the taxi drivers admitted afterwards that he had previous experience of dowsing. The holiday tour courier who was watching explained that Montenegrins had an empathy with environmental energies. It does show that you can generate curiosity in the name of dowsing where ever you go says Michael Haxeltine, Chairman of Waverley Dowsers who are based in Godalming, Surrey.

Waverley Dowsers will be visiting Waverley Abbey in Farnham, Surrey, GU9 8EP on the 9th September along with the Mayor and guests, please come along to see some experienced dowsers search the Abbey grounds for missing buildings plus there may also be the opportunity to search for Earth energies and underground water springs. Waverley Abbey  was the first Cistercian Abbey in England and was established nearly 900 years ago, so plenty of potential history to be re-discovered.

The Waverley Dowsers chairman has this to say:

Our principal visitors for the evening will be The Mayor of Waverley Borough Council, The Town Mayor of Godalming, The Chairman of the  British Society of Dowsers  Archaeological  Special Interest group.

In addition to The President of the Waverley Dowsers  and The Secretary of Waverley  Dowsers will be escorting the Borough and Town Mayor. The President  is also Chair of the International Association of Healing Dowsers.

Waverley Dowsers    does invite dowsers both beginners and dowsers from other groups and that ensures cross comment and thus improvement of dowsing skills.
Our Chairman feels that Dowsing might prove to have economic benefit to local authorities as an attraction to  many sites of antiquity .  Dowsing for a few pence can reveal all manner of information  and prove itself through constant replication without  disturbing any ground. In deed he has used dowsing evidence in  two major planning inquiries and has self published a book to engage those in involved in  forming public policy  with dowsing related issues .

Dowsing in local policy requires some very simple  “drills” and our guests will received some guidance in these drills to enable them to participate in the “searches” in the ground of the ruins of the Abbey.

Those attending will be split into working groups  to identify for instance:- the alignment of the now non existent columns, the energy in different parts of the Abbey and to see the size of the Altar .  Further two mystery tasks will be on offer for the very experienced.

The evening will finish with a few minutes submersing what we will have achieved   and for the Chairman  to receive comments from everyone so that Waverley dowsers can improve they way it engages with the community .

Visit the English Heritage website for more info on Waverley Abbey:

Waverley Dowsers were recently invited to test their skills and help local historian Jo Gosney

relocate the site of a 14th century farmhouse in what is now the King George’s Playing Field in Farnborough, Hampshire.

Jo who has researched the area extensively working from old maps none of which show the

actual building also provided the Waverley dowsing members a short talk on the history of the area.

Using our preferred dowsing devices, we then proceeded to dowse the likely area, marking the edges of

buildings with coloured flags and surveyors poles. We found traces of a building,

possibly dating back to the 14th century, established the thickness of the walls.

Also present was a local reporter, who took an interest in what we were, Michael Haxeltine the

current Waverley dowsers chairman also provided a short interview on video for the online Journal

which you are able to watch here, the Journalist also provided an interesting and thoughtful article after

asking questions and watching us all Dowse.

Dowsers can be a practical bunch, one day we may be dowsing with Spiritual aspects or Earth energies but they may also use their skills in the more mundane practice’s of modern life, we have recently posted two articles from the more experienced members of the Waverley dowsers, one article demonstrates the use of dowsing in the kitchen, while the other clearly demonstrates remote dowsing for the common task of finding lost car keys.

You may read both articles by following the relevant link below, enjoy your read and if you live with-in driving distance of Godalming in Surrey, consider joining us on one of our meetings for fun tasks and stimulating conversations.

Dowsing is all about been in touch with your intuition,  for most people this tends to help develop a gentler and more expansive way of thinking, or seeing the bigger picture, here is a great little video, which has nothing to do with dowsing, other than providing the opportunity to think.

But back on the subject of dowsing, please visit the International Dowsing day group on ‘Facebook’ and get an idea of what people around the world will be doing to capture the spirit of Dowsing on the 5th of May.

There is no age barrier to Dowsing, I started Dowsing when I was seven years old and I have met some who were dowsing before that age, but it does not matter if you started early or came to the craft later in life, there are constant surprises to be found in the life of a Dowser.

Like a musician, Linguist or Meditater, one thing science agrees on is that when you start using the grey matter for more than everyday stuff, the brain grows more neurons to accommodate the extra workload and in effect you get the capacity to be better than you were before, it is all about how you use the extra brain capacity.

Dowsers can use either the right hand side of the brain or the left, so you could expect to become ‘more’ logical or more intuitive or perhaps even both, but practice can only improve you, so read our articles for ideas on how and what you can dowse and enjoy your ‘growing’.

If you wish to try Dowsing or learn how to dowse then practicing makes perfect, although nothing can beat proper training for getting up to speed quickly, no matter what subject you are trying.

Waverley Dowser’s who meet in Godalming in Surrey every 2 months are an ideal starting place to meet like minded people who are curious, friendly and open minded about the world. Waverley Dowsers can also teach you how to make your own dowsing rods and pendulums as well as provide a great deal of experience and wisdom in the art of Dowsing.

There are many websites in the UK which promote dowsing, one of the oldest and most respected are the Parellel Community website which embraces Dowsers and like minded people from all over the world.

http://www.parallelcommunity.com

This website was co-founded by Hamish Miller and several other members of the British Society of Dowsers to provide a place where great ideas can be manifested for the benefit of all. May your subtle energies be pure.

Dowsers are a curious bunch of people, we can be found out in all weathers indulging our curiosities striding about with a rod or two in our hands or even standing stock still while we interrogate with our pendulums.

When it comes to looking for interesting sites to dowse, there is nothing better than understanding the geology of a site, it can provide answers to some questions that without digging deep holes, we can never find out.

So here is a great resource on the internet from the British Geological Survey website

Click HERE for the BGS website

With plenty of FREE downloads and educational maps and guides, there are many hours of fun exploring for children of all ages.

For those who like lots of Love, we have found a lovely website that just shines with ideas, check out Ivan Mcbeth and his magical world below
